Cupcakes and Beards
I love Toronto.
It’s a bustling and vibrant city, with an array of diversity that lives in harmony with one another. While, yes there are some instances that we would rather not talk about right now, those instances are few and far between.
I sometimes catch myself sitting in a crowded room or on the subway, just watching people and wondering: Are they happy?
How many people are too afraid to try something new, to set out on a new adventure, all in the name of fear? How many people would rather sit in the comfort of a nine to five, and settle?
And so it is a pleasure and an honour for me to be a part of “theBUZZ”… a new venture in Toronto.
I personally, am a person who leaps before over-thinking the outcome. My life is sink or swim. So for me, this new venture into writing for theBUZZ, is ideal; and I am both thrilled and scared (in a good way) for what may come!
I have decided to take this opportunity, my first blog post, to tell you who I am and what you may encounter within my posts.
I decided to call it “Cupcakes & Beards” because if you had to sum me up… that’s about it… I couldn’t fit vodka, tattoos, teacup piglets, etc etc into the title… so I chose something that would embody my writing and me.
I’m a diverse individual, with a wide mess of interests. My roommate has referred to me as a “trendy-goth-weird-partying-fashionable-lesbian-gay man”… I like diversity.
So, while I enjoy the scene of the village, I also like to explore outside of the village and enjoy being a guy and doing guy things… while I sprinkle a trail of glitter as I do.
And if you can’t find me out and about the city … I’ll be at home, watching “The Notebook” covered in Cheetos dust, tears and shame.
