Ah, Julie Newmar…campy, hilarious and as iconic as it gets, “To Wong Foo: Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar” (1995) forms the fourth and final night of the inaugural Capital Pride International Movie Night.

Presented by the Bank Street BIA and the US Embassy, the road trip movie about three drag queens trying to travel across the country hasn’t aged a bit – much like Ms Newmar herself.

For the Village Night, the intersection of Bank Street at Gilmour in the Village will be shut down to traffic and the film shown on an outdoor screen.

9PM – Strip Spelling Bee9 – (317 Bank Street, Ottawa Babylon Nightclub)

Tickets: Advance tickets will go on sale August 1st at Venus Envy and After Stonewall for $20; $25 for tickets at the door (if there are any left).

For information, contact the Lesbian Information Xchange (LIX) at info@girlswanttoknow.com.

11PM – Rainbow Party 323 Bank Street and Babylon Night Club (317 Bank Street).

Is there anything more fabulous, more delicious, more completely and totally dazzling than a Pride party celebrating the LGBTQ rainbow?

Of course not. That’s why Capital Pride is proud to present the Rainbow Party. Sponsored by the Bank Street BIA, this year’s celebration of all things queer will send spines tingling with two of the most dynamic entertainers in this year’s Pride line up.

Pumping up the sexy quota will be Australian-born, California-based Courtney Act, who is everything a drag queen should be: glamorous, talented and quite simply divine. Never mind that she was second runner up on this season’s Ru Paul Drag Race…Courtney Act is top-billing around the world – and at Capital Pride.

Revered by his peers and party goers alike, Montreal’s DJ Stephan Grondin will also bring his uber-talent to the Rainbow Party, promising to deliver unparalleled musical memories. Considered a giant in.
