Pride Toronto is celebrating it’s 35th Anniversary and celebrating this impressive milestone with a special event.

“Drag On!” at Yonge-Dundas Square on Saturday June 27th 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM showcases 35 queens and 35 years of music.

This month ‘Wigged Out’ will be taking a look at some 0f the artists and performers who are participating in this fabulous event.

Throw on your high heels, weave, I mean, ‘we’ve’ got the low down on the upcoming highlights.

Our first performer profile, who will be working the Yonge-Dundas Square stage, is none other than the joyously fierce-some Vitality Black.

Arriving on the scene not more than five years ago, this glamorous gorgeous gal has already established herself as one of Toronto’s most energetic and ambitious talents. Winner of such esteemed titles as “Miss Gay Universe”, “Miss Embassy” and “Miss El Convento Rico”, she recently hit high marks at the latest Miss Gay Toronto pageant taking home the trophy for ‘Best Talent’ with her wild and stunning stage dynamics.

What does Pride mean to you?

For me Pride is showing who I am as an individual. It’s about being comfortable in my own skin and appreciating the opportunity and privilege. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be happy, joyous and free.

What are you most looking forward to this Pride?

I love seeing the conglomeration of cultures, seeing everyone together as one. I find diversity interesting, even inspiring!

What have been your highlights as a performer so far?

Every time I perform Tina Turner it’s a highlight. I enjoy doing my flips and somersaults and when the crowd reacts it’s immediately my favorite moment because we have connected and exchanged positivity and fun.

What’s your favorite song to perform?

Tina Turner’s ‘Proud Mary’.

Who’s your drag idol?

I’d have to say the legendary Chris Edwards.

What year and song are you representing on stage at Yonge-Dundas Square for the Drag On event?

I’m representing 1991 and performing C+C Music factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)”…and we ARE gonna sweat!

Catch Vitality Black and many more at Yonge-Dundas Square’s Drag On! and keep tuned to theBUZZ as we feature more great and glamorous performers with our countdown to Pride!
