This new community-driven Plan offers strategic directions, revised mission, vision and values for organization, the result of a years worth of community engagement and consultation which will guide the organization over the next five years.

The Strategic Plan, Beyond 20/20, introduces a revised mission, vision and values for Pride Toronto, as well as strategic directions and objectives for the organization to implement immediately. With preparations already well underway for the 2016 Pride Toronto festival, the Plan will serve as the cornerstone of all organizational decision-making.

Since September 2014, community meetings, public forums, festival participant surveys, consultations with community leaders, politicians and key stakeholders, and interviews with Pride Toronto staff and volunteers have taken place. These opportunities provided valuable community feedback and reflection, which Pride Toronto listened to, incorporating key learnings into the Strategic Plan.

“As the meaning of Pride evolves, Pride Toronto must re-examine our own vision and goals in order to remain not only connected and reflective of our diverse community, but also one of the premiere arts and cultural events in Canada and the largest Pride celebration in North America,” said Pride Toronto Executive Director Mathieu Chantelois.   As outlined in the Strategic Plan, the first for the organization since 2007, Pride Toronto will align its focus on values of inclusivity, diversity, creativity and sustainability, as well as working towards strategic directions of developing a meaningful, fierce, loud and strong Pride.

A leader for Pride organizations worldwide, Pride Toronto is one of the few internationally recognized celebrations guided by a Strategic Plan.   Beyond 20/20 will be presented to Pride Toronto’s membership at the upcoming 2015 Annual General Meeting, to be held later this month.
