The annual AIDS Walk Toronto happens on Sunday, September 10th, 2017, and organizers are looking forward to another spectacular turnout. Help end stigma, and join thousands of Canadians across the country in giving your support to those living with HIV and AIDS. The Scotiabank AIDS Walk Toronto takes place at Barbara Hall Park, where festivities begin and end. 2017 marks the 29th year walking towards an Toronto with zero new HIV infections, zeroAIDS-related deaths, and zero HIV-related stigma.

There are incentive prizes throughout that will be announced soon for achievement of certain levels (ie. $250, $500, etc.), as well as ongoing promotions, such the current one with Porter Airlines, whereby individuals who register and make a self pledge (donate to their own personal page) by June 30, will be entered to win two tickets to anywhere Porter flies. A self donation is important, as it sets the tone for what you hope others might pledge you in support of participation. Participants can march individually, join a team, or show their support via a donation.

In 2016 the AIDS Walk Toronto raised over $270,000 (net) thanks to an amazing community of supporters:

* 500+ participants

* 55 teams

* 136 volunteer

* 13 sponsors

Things to consider as a registered participant:

– when people donate to you online, they are thanked and receive their tax receipt instantly.

– you also receive notice of their donation via email – it is good to acknowledge and thank them too!

– ideally participants can attend the Walk on Walk day. If not, they can still raise funds and do a 5 km walk on their own time
