This fall, renowned Canadian cabaret artist Sharron Matthews returns to Toronto’s Buddies in Bad Times Theatre with her new show NAKED, and the annual traditional performance of Sharron and George’s Superfun Christmas Singalong. On the heels of her recent successful return to New York City, performing NAKED, Matthews brings the show to Buddies for three performances only, from November 15 – 17 at 8:00 p.m.

Spinning the music of AC/DC, Amy Winehouse, Chaka Kahn, Beyoncé, Annie Lennox, Cheap Trick, P!NK, Coldplay, U2, Serena Ryder, the Beatles and more into her acclaimed, singular musical arrangements, Sharron takes you straight to the bone with her spellbinding stories of want, of need, of love, of fear and, as always, of hysterical joy. In NAKED, Sharron strips down musically and emotionally, pulling the audience into this intimate performance in a way that is both moving and breathtaking.

A true holiday crowd pleaser and one of Matthews favourite shows that includes song sheets, prizes, tree- trimming, special guests and cookies. Combining Matthews’ powerful voice with her signature comedic wit, created holiday-themed pop medleys, sing-a-longs and song-a-logues that will have audiences roaring with laughter and crooning along.

With the Christmas season just around the corner, audiences at Buddies will definitely get into their Christmas spirit when Sharron Matthews and her husband George Masswohl return for the fifth annual acclaimed Superfun Christmas Singalong on December 17 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for NAKED are $20 for Students and Arts workers and $25 for general admission.

As an actress, Sharron is known as “Joan the secretary” in the hilarious comedy Mean Girls. She’s been described as “the most exciting thing to have happened in cabaret since Bette Midler at the Continental Baths.” She’s also performed in a number of musicals, including: Hal Prince’s Showboat, Les Miserables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast , The Wizard of Oz, and Love Loss and What I Wore.
