Two lifelong best friends and roommates are planning the greatest musical act in the history of the modern world

if only they could book their first gig –

Featured on Rolling Stone’s list of the 25 Most Anticipated TV Shows of 2017,’ Rogers Media original series Nirvanna the Band the Show takes centre stage – well, sort of – beginning Thursday, Feb. 2 at 10 pm. ET/PT on VICELAND and City. Featuring Matt Johnson (The DirtiesOperation Avalanche) and Jay McCarrol, the eight-part, half-hour comedy, adapted from the web series by the same name, centers around a hapless, two-piece Toronto “band” who will do anything to play a show at The Rivioli. Each episode follows Matt and Jay as they cook up yet another hair-brained scheme to get on stage – that inevitably goes wildly awry.

Following the February 2 premiere on VICELAND and City, viewers can catch the rest of the season exclusively on VICELAND and VICELAND.com. Plus, Fido mobile customers can now watch all of their favourite shows right on their phones with free 2017 access to VICELAND.

Nirvanna the Band the Show premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival and has since been selected for screenings at Austin’s Fantastic Fest, The Vienna International Film Festival, and the upcoming International Film Festival Rotterdam.
