Delve into the haunted side of the Islands with  chilling new attraction is debuting in Toronto this October for all those who get a delicious thrill from murder mysteries and eerie ghost stories. Scroll to bottom for your chance to win a pair of FREE TICKETS.

This Halloween season, journey into Toronto Island’s past. Take an evening boat ride into the “Spooky Lagoons” and warp back in time to when the Island had 10000 fulltime summer residents. Sit back and listen to true island tales as told by 85 year island resident, Jimmy Jones (the “Unofficial Mayor of Toronto Island”).

Hear of a 107 year old sunken ship which you can ride today, Babe Ruth, hurricane Hazel, diving horses, and decimation of a unique community. If you dare, step off the boat  at the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse (who’s kidding, you’ll have no choice). Experience the story of Toronto’s most famous ghost, J.P. Radelmüller. On the ride back, you’ll have an unforgettable experience  as you witness the slow reveal of the shimmering city skyline at night. Note: Most stories are also accompanied with archival photos.

Even history buffs will get a kick out of the newest haunted production coming to the Toronto Islands – Spooky Lagoon’s Toronto Island Stories: Murder at the Lighthouse. Set to take visitors back in time to the early history of the islands, Toronto Island Stories will include a narrated boat ride and recount the legendary tale of the murder of John Paul Radelmüller – Gibraltar Point Lighthouse’s most famous keeper. Passengers will truly feel like they have stepped back in time a hundred years as storytellers, dressed in full costumes from the early 1900s, will help passengers disembark and guide them up to the old lighthouse to the site where it is said Radelmüller’s remains were found.

“We’re very excited about being able to bring this gripping new Halloween attraction to Toronto all month long,” says Luc Cote of Spooky Lagoon Productions and Owner of Tiki Taxi. “There is a lot more to the Islands than meets the eye. It’s got great history and we hope our excursionists will take away with them fascinating – and of course spooky – stories they may not have known before.”

Some of the Islands’ most unique anecdotes will be narrated by longtime resident and unofficial Islands’ mayor, Jimmy Jones. “Jones is quite the animated character and is a vault of knowledge when it comes to the Toronto Islands,” adds Cote. “October evenings around the Islands will be spook-tacular and will certainly be a ride to remember.”

Toronto Island Stories: Murder at the Lighthouse will run beginning at sunset on Oct. 5th-8th, 13th-14th, 20th-21st, 27th-31st with boats departing every 10 minutes from 175 Queens Quay West.
