Field Trip, Toronto’s essential downtown music and arts festival, returns for its sixth year Saturday and Sunday June 2 and 3. The unofficial kick off to the city’s summer festival season represents a half-decade tradition of world-class music and arts programs inside beautiful, Historic Fort York & Garrison Common.

Driven by a love of community and discovery, Field Trip 2018 again welcomes an incredible array of musical performances, family programming, comedy and more. All the music, food, drink and activities integrate with collaborative explorations on themes of visual art, technology, fashion and beyond.

Field Trip’s one-of-a-kind immersive, intergenerational play space – the beloved ‘Day Camp’ – will stage its biggest program yet with full programming to be announced later this month. As with every Field Trip, children 12 years old and under are admitted for free with an accompanying adult ticket purchaser. In addition to Day Camp, Historic Fort York will be brought to life with collaborative visual art installations from emerging Toronto creatives.

“Field Trip promises something for all of us. We challenge ourselves to improve the diversity and creativity of our offerings every year, but our deep connections to the City of Toronto and its creative communities remain unchanged,” noted Field Trip producer Aaron Miller.

“Fort York is an amazingly intimate site – the ability to stage an event like this in the heart of one of North America’s best and biggest cities makes Field Trip a weekend event unlike any other.”

ABOUT FIELD TRIP MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL

2018 welcomes the sixth annual edition of Toronto’s Field Trip Music & Arts Festival, which began in 2013 as a 10-year anniversary celebration of iconic Canadian independent music company Arts & Crafts. The then one-day event featured two stages curated entirely from Arts & Crafts’ roster, co-headlined by a return from hiatus for flagship collective Broken Social Scene alongside 11-time JUNO Award and 2012 Polaris Music Prize winner Feist. Today Arts & Crafts and Live Nation partner on an event that’s built around celebrating the core themes of creativity and community in their many forms and highlighting the cultural and artistic diversity of the City of Toronto.
