Through the confessions of six professional pornstars, take an insider’s look into Montréal’s gay porn industry, a major hub of this lucrative industry that generates billions of dollars each year. Meet the actors, cult filmmakers, specialists in sex health, and model’s entourage revealing all the secrets about the pornstar life. The series answers all the questions that everyone has on their lips through the eyes of professional models : Trent King, Skyy Knox, Guillaume Patenaude, Edward Terrant, Teddy Torres, River Wilson and many more.

The documentary series goes far beyond porn. In addition to behind-the-scenes secrets, it discusses daily routines, love life, self-esteem, health and prevention, therapy and surgery. A wide range of stakeholders, including international actors, cult filmmakers, specialists in sex health, ex-pornstars and actor’s entourage ensure that subjects are treated with rigour and accuracy. The series will show you that Montréal is one of the gayest places to be!

BOY BOY MONTRÉAL is directed by Isabelle Hamon and Raphaël Massicotte, two filmmakers with backgrounds in pornographic production. Their extensive knowledge of this culture and their close ties with the industry’s players allow the series to offer an exclusive perspective.

Isabelle Hamon is one of the most influential directors in the gay porn industry. Since 2010, she has been working with the biggest production studios in America. In addition to her career in the industry, in 2017 she set up her own studio in Montréal, Les Productions IGNA, which produces music videos and artistic projects with a queer and erotic flavor. Her mission is to shine a light on sex workers in order to restore a positive image of the sex industry.

Raphaël Massicotte is a writer, director and multi-platform visual artist based in Montréal. Raphael has redefined the gay porno esthetic by making work at the nexus of pop-culture, sex cultures and cinema. In 2018, his short film Starving Boys premiered at Festival du Nouveau Cinéma. Raphael embrasses gay porno in his artistic practice and wants to bring the form to a wider audience

Episode 01 – BONJOUR, HI !

Meet Trent, Skyy, Guillaume, Edward, Teddy and River, the six pornstars of BOY BOY MONTREAL. River and Cory Kane are performing a photoshoot together. Guillaume welcomes actors Teddy and Pierre Fitch for a spa at home. Back in the VHS era, Skyy meets George Somers, owner of Wega adult video store.

Episode 02 – BORN TO BE WILD 

Discover the first step of a gay porn production : audition of new actors. Trent and Skyy are scouting new models in a Montreal’s strip club. Guillaume and his employees discuss the image and business challenges around model casting. The main cast share their point of view on body image.

Episode 03 – BEHIND THE CAMERA 

Go through all the production stages of a gay porn film, from script to editing. Terry and Milo Madera shoot a mainstream scripted scene as River and Kyle Killam shoot a more artistic unscripted scene. Our six pornstars talk about their salaries and inequalities in the industry.  

Episode 04 – BUSINESS AS USUAL 

The models visit a sexual clinic in order to get tested for STI and talk about health prevention. River meets queer photographer Schaël Marcéus in his studio for a creative photoshoot as the guys talk about their artistic corpus. Edward and Guillaume have a private moment with their respective family.

Episode 05 – BONER KILLER 

Enter the world of fake cum, penile injections and other magic tricks behind pornography. Skyy, Teddy and River visit a cosmetic surgery clinic in order to get an anal laser bleaching. Pornstars Jason Vario and Ethan Chase get a penile injection. Sexologist Laurence Desjardins gives body acceptance group therapy.

Episode 06 – BROMANCE

Gay-for-pay, or heterosexual pornstar, is the most taboo subject in the gay porn industry. River and straight pornstar Markus Cage are getting ready for a shoot in a locker room. Three straight pornstars and their friends throw a terrace party to talk about their gay porn careers. 

Episode 07 – BABES 

Explore the couple dynamics of being in a relationship with a pornstar. Trent and Beau Reed join Carter Dane and Alex Mecum at a bar to play pool. Teddy is being asked juicy questions about his married life. Bo Sinn drives with his girlfriend Roxanne on the way to a shoot.

Episode 08 – BY MYSELF 

Trent meets pornstar Manuel Skye, who has an OnlyFans adult page. Teddy gets introduced to Thyle Knoxx’s and learns about the motivations that lead to webcaming. Bella French, CEO of ManyVids, explains the recent shift towards amateur porn. Skyy exposes the self promotion that comes with being a pornstar.

Episode 09 – BACKLASH 

Trent and Beau Reed discuss their highschool souvenirs of being gay as a teenager. Brandon Jones and Alexy Tyler sheds light on the life following pornstar retirement. Jake Bass opens about the backlash of being under contract with major studios. Guillaume shares apprehension about revealing his career to his child.

Episode 10 – BLOSSOMING 

The popularity of adult gaming only increases, and the LGBTQ+ diversity takes its rightful place. Edward and Teddy test a virtual reality technology. A cinema group students share their vision on the future of porn. Series’ directors discuss with director Bruce LaBruce, pioneer of artistic gay porn. To close the season, our six pornstars share good memories together.
