June Again tells the story of June Wilton, the owner of Wilton Wallpapers. During a fleeting bout of lucidity from her dementia, June escapes the senior’s residence she’s been placed in, and has precious little time before another relapse to try and bring her estranged children back together, save the family business, and rekindle an old flame.

SNAPSHOT REVIEW

This is a heartfelt story that shows how sometimes there’s only one person who can keep a family in check, and that’s the mother. While the film shows many confrontational moments between June and her two adult children who have formed their own (differing) opinions on life, deep down there’s a love that will always exist. While June has been in residence for some five years, life has continued to go on without her. When she regains her memory, picking up where she last remembers as if nothing is really any different, it proves difficult for her children to adapt to their mother being back with them again.

While there are moments of sadness, realizing that this scenario could very well happen to anyone, the film is also filled with comedic moments throughout.

Starring Noni Hazlehurst, Claudia Karvan, and Stephen Curry. Available January 7, 2022 from Vortex Media.
