The Vanguard Launch takes places Monday March 28, 2022  in the historic grand venue of The Carlu, 444 Yonge Street, Toronto. Hair, Face, Chic & Heals is the Invite-Only showcase of Fashion and Music hosted by Special Advisor Glen Baxter, Co-Chair and Special Advisor Vanja Vasi of Fashion Arts Toronto, and Curator Shawn Cuffie (Black Diamond Ball).

Inspired by the world’s most coveted red carpets, this is a charity night of personal expression, haute couture, and uninhibited style in support of mental health wellness and community initiatives. This inaugural Launch event begins is a preview for their bigger event in the Fall (Date TBD).  

“I am thrilled to be hosting The Vanguard Launch, the inaugural event benefiting mental health initiatives,” says event emcee and television personality Glen Baxter, “This evening will be the first of its kind and promises to bring out some of the city’s most fashion forward personalities, notables and creatives. We are overdue for a glamorous night out and I’m excited to be a part of it.” 

The evening begins with a Famed Carpet at 6:30 PM , followed by the Savoir Faire After Party beginning at 8:00 PM with special guests, Marieme, DJ Evalicious, and Sofonda Cox. More guest announcements coming! The Vanguard and Savoir Faire are open to all cultures, all genders, all those with an open mind and open heart.

Surrounded by elegant decor, delectable hors d’oeuvres, and Avant Garde stylistas, the VIP Champagne Room is the golden room behind the velvet rope. To slay the night is the self-described anti-diva Marieme, who has been compared to Erykah Badu, Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill all wrapped into one phenomenal artist for her bold, expressive multi-octave voice and social-conscious world vision.

Marieme is a Senegalese-American artist whose music focuses on themes of Self-Love, Revolution, and Empowerment. Her upbringing and being uprooted by war at 6 months old have shaped Marieme into a messenger of Love. Speaking through music, fashion, and cutting-edge tech, Marieme has been making a case for her message with her voice being used for film and television, including international LinkedIn and Apple TV campaigns. Most recently she was featured as a next generation icon in V magazine and is working on music to help shift the collective consciousness of the world.

The Vanguard Launch will be following government regulations for Ontario. Masks are encouraged, but they are not required nor is proof of vaccination. However, there will be a contact tracing system in place.
