The Pomegranate Film Festival celebrates Armenian inspired film. Established in 2006 stems from the Toronto Chapter of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, a group of young Armenian professionals, bound by a passion for film and culture. Fresh, dynamic, prolific, and rich with culture, it depicts topics relevant Armenian culture through the medium of films submitted from around the world. In doing so, it creates a platform for burgeoning Armenian talent and the community to intermingle.

Hamazkayin’s Pomegranate Film Festival takes place between November 7-13th, 2022 for a full week, both in-person and online through the easy to use Eventive platform. These films can be viewed until  Sunday Nov. 20th in the comforts of your own home.

The remaining films below will be presented live between Friday Nov. 11th until Sunday Nov. 13th at the Hamazkayin Theatre located at Toronto’s Armenian Youth Centre (50 Hallcrown Place).

Nicole Ballivian director of past POM favourite DRIVING TO ZIGZIGLAND will be presenting her new short film JOE & THE SHAWL as part of the SYMPHONY OF FILM series. Uber talented filmmaker Yelena Arshakyan whose past features at POM include the award winning films UNINTERRUPTED FLIGHT and OUR VILLAGE, returns with her North American Premiere of NUNIK as part of the ARMENIA NOW series which will also include the fascinating short film THE HOUSE THAT BUILT TSOGHIK by legendary Yerevan based filmmaker Mariam Ohanyan who will be making her fourth contribution to POM.

The virtual portion of Hamazkayin’s Pomegranate Film Festival donates all proceeds to the Armenian Wounded Heroes Fund.
