Becoming a Man in 127 EASY Steps – documentary about transitioning that was two-decades in the making gets a gallery film screening with post discussion – Nov 13, 2025 (Toronto)
The Women’s Art Association of Canada presents An Evening with Scott Turner Schofield, an Emmy-nominated actor, creator, and producer whose intimate, funny, and deeply human 60-minute film Becoming a Man in 127 EASY Steps screens in Toronto on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 7:00pm.
This exclusive, one-night-only event offers a rare chance to experience the film in an intimate gallery setting, not a typical theatre, but a cozy, art-filled space known as the Dignam Gallery, inside the historic Women’s Art Association of Canada. The screening will be projected in the gallery in a relaxed atmosphere followed by a lively post-screening discussion with Schofield.
Blending live storytelling, bold imagery, and two decades of personal footage, Becoming a Man in 127 EASY Steps is a raw and funny reflection on transition, belonging, and what it really means to “become” yourself. Twice censored and now celebrated, the film lands at a time when trans voices matter more than ever, and Schofield brings humour, tenderness, and candor to the conversation.
“This is more than a screening, it’s a conversation,” says Schofield. “It’s about celebrating the stories that make us human, in all our complexity and joy.” With Becoming a Man in 127 EASY Steps, he turns the lens inward inviting audiences to laugh, reflect, and maybe even see themselves in his story.
