Bestival is back, but we won’t be taking boats to the Toronto Islands this year. Although a great concept, and well attended last year for the inaugural event here in Toronto, the organizers have chosen Woodbine Park on the mainland as the site for this year’s festivities on June 11 and 12, 2016

The wonderful world of Bestival was born out of ten fun years of pioneering music events and record releases from renowned music specialist, Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best empire. Alongside Creative Director, and wife, Josie da Bank, and co-founders and partners John & Ziggy from Get Involved, Bestival is the realisation of a long-held dream to create the perfect modern day festival.

Global kings of musical delights and tripped-out arts festivities, Bestival HQ is all about the Music, Freedom, Peace and Euphoria. 2016 is all about Bestival’s Summer of Love, so expect monumental fun and unparalleled party pleasures, surrender to the possibilities, and feel the love at Bestival Toronto!

Bestival’s Summer of Love is all about positivity, peace & love, and bananas not guns. All people, all sexes, all ages, all cultures come together and share the good times, to celebrate the simple joy of unity, to feel the unparalleled pleasures of dancing shoulder to shoulder with wonderful strangers and loving every second. From bell-bottomed flower braided hippies to psychedelic headscarves, Saturday will host a fantastical costume parade, weaving and winding a harem of sequin shapes and Summer of Love splendor through Woodbine Park. Joining the previously announced The Cosmic Commune line-up laying the evolution of love on the dance floor are ecstatic magicians Lovelution,presenting Celestial Rain, an Intergalactic Downpour of Love, otherworldly Alien Visitations and Extraterrestrial Puppet Shows, wondrous delights from The Cube: Portal to Other Worlds, UFO bound soundscapists and psychedelic world beat jam The Subtonic Monks, intergalactic virtual reality experiences hosted by Occupied VR in theFuture Retro Vision tent, rock reggae vibrations Down By Riverside, soulful honcho Christian Bridges, dub spiritual reggaeist Jungle Man Sam,hippie Rainbow Soul Pop Up Party and gourmet health, space snack caterers Cosmic Café. Plus, don’t forget to hire your morph suit for amazing daily Flashmob Conga Lines!

Elsewhere expect gloriously trippy unicorn squads, spontaneous sparkle dance parties and epic bubble blowing battles from Cosmic Unicorn Art Carhosted by Top Secret Parties, dreamy twilight mariachi Mexico De Noche,acrobatic yoga duo, Acro Buddhas and the Yarn Bomb Piano Lounge, as well as one stop costume shop Dress Up Tent hosted by 69 Vintage, bedazzled drum and bugle corps Optimists Alumni and super-fantastic Drag Queen Croquet.
