Anything Kristen Wiig is involved with can’t be anything but funny. However, her latest feature, Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar, takes a somewhat bizarre futuristic, Austin Powers like twist to it as well. From the gals who brought us Bridesmaids (co-stars and co-writers Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo) are back with another round of giggles and kerfuffles.

After losing their job at the local retailer, lifelong friends Barb and Star, who are both recently single, decide to embark on the adventure of a lifetime and leave their small Midwestern town for the first time…ever. Mixups, mishaps, romance, adventure, sex, and entanglement within a villain’s evil plot, are all just par for the course.

After getting let go from their life-long jobs at the local retailer, and being ousted from the local ladies talk club, the gals decide to pack up their suitcase of miscellaneous items, and head to the Vista Del Mar Hotel Resort in Florida. Upon arrival, they are informed that they are actually booked at the seedy motel down the road, and not the luxurious resort they so long to be at. As luck would have, one room becomes available at the sold out resort, and the hijinxs begin.

These ladies are excited to do as much as they can in the week that they are there, and after heading straight to the bar, they start chatting up hunky Edgar (Dorman). After (quite) a few drinks, the three end up in bed together. The next day the pair try to pretend it wasn’t really anything, and they agree to just forget about it, but obviously neither can and begin their follow-up solo quest with Edgar.  What entails runs the gamut from slapstick to WTF, and everything in between that you may or mayn

Wiig pulls off a wonderful performance, well actually two, as do her co-stars Mumolo and Dorman. Also, watch for several cameos from the likes of Kermit the Frog, Mr. Peanut, a talking clam, and a mermaid named Trish.

Yep, this is a strange one. Enjoy!

Hold onto your culottes, BARB & STAR debuts in your home on February 12th!
