Amythyst Kiah has quickly become a name everyone is talking about. From her Grammy Award nominations for her song ‘Black Myself‘ with Our Native Daughters to her recent live performance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, we are definitely amid an Amythyst moment. And it’s a moment with no expiry in sight.

Now Amythyst has released Hangover Blues, the third track from her upcoming long awaited album “Wary + Strange. Hangover Blues is a personal song that tells of the time in her life when alcohol became a mechanism for coping with social anxiety, a condition that she has been challenged by since childhood. With moody rhythm and blues chords and an edgy flow carried throughout the track, Hangover Blues speaks to the habitual and addictive nature of being stuck in motion with an uncertainty of how to change a pattern while struggling with self disappointment and regret.

Amythyst Kiah is also set to perform at the 2021 INSPIRE Awards, an annual event that celebrates the ongoing contributions that changemakers, activists, groups, and individuals  have made to the LGBTQ community in the Greater Toronto Area. Hosted by Martha Chaves and Gavin Crawford, this year the organization celebrates their 10th Annual Awards ceremony which will also see Canadian music pioneer K.D. Lang receive the International Icon Award.

The 2021 INSPIRE Awards take place on Friday, May 14th at 7pm EST live streamed online at Facebook.com/InspireAwards
