Cirque du Soleil’s “Kooza” brings the big top circus back to Toronto – April 7 to June 18, 2023
Acclaimed the world over since its debut in 2007, KOOZA has mesmerized close to 8 million spectators with over 4,000 performances in 65 cities across 22 countries, and it’s now coming to Toronto, April 7 to June 18, 2023. Get ready to be swept away by the sheer magic and mischievous clowns of KOOZA, along with incredible daredevil performances and showmanship of High Wire, Teeterboard, and infamous ‘Wheel of Death’ acts.
The iconic Big Top will be the first to take residence in the re-development site of the old Mr. Christie factory site at 2150 Lake Shore Blvd West in the neighbourhood of Humber Bay Shores, that is schedule to undergo a massive transformation of both residential and retail development over the next several years.
KOOZA is an innovative journey viewed through the perspective of The Innocent, an endearing yet naïve clown looking for his place in the world. A mystery item is delivered to The Innocent one day when he is flying his kite. The self-discovery journey of The Innocent, who is miraculously transferred to a bizarre but exotic world, is followed in KOOZA under the watchful eye of an enigmatic trickster with remarkable abilities.
Between strength and fragility, laughter and smiles, turmoil and harmony, the show explores themes of fear, identity, recognition and power. The show is set in an electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity and total involvement.
