Bulldog Productions is launching its latest initiative The Bow, a brand new free streaming platform featuring elevated original content created for Queer People by Queer People, and you’re invited to the launch party! Details below.

The Bow is a brand-new ad driven streaming platform, free to all users, that will feature elevated original content. In addition to content, The Bow will also offer a user experience unlike any you’ve seen, hosting community based social media functions and interactive resources that will revolutionize queer living and create connection on a global scale.

The Bow subscribes to the notion that the only cure for homophobia is education and the platform aims to do just that: educate. The Bow, as in the end of the rain(bow), will be a place where allied corporate partners will have the opportunity to join forces to support true excellence in Canadian queer film and television.

Content created under The Bow umbrella will be easily accessible to everyone, creating a safe space for audiences to connect with the content while raising positive brand awareness for corporate partners.

The Bow will feature content that will be available to watch online after appearing on television and will be accompanied by a wide variety of additional high quality, queer-focused programming.

Six independent projects will act as the foundation of the app including:

Drag Me to Brunch – watch drag queens, Sofonda, Lucy Flawless & Miss Conception, eat, dance and sing their way through North America’s best drag brunches. From the kitchen to the main stage, watch as they judge both the food and the performers, discovering never before seen talent, in their natural environment.

Balls to the Wall – After decades of this underground “ballroom culture” community being hidden from the mainstream light, it’s time to showcase these marginalized individuals in their fight for inclusion and to be seen in full colour. Follow these larger than life personalities as they navigate day to day life, through to the most elaborate dance competition you’ve ever seen.

Mysterious Finn – Growing up during the 90s in northern BC, Joe Bowen is grappling to accept his sexuality, Indigenous identity and the eerie feeling that someone or something is following him. After being saved from a near death altercation Joe meets Finn, a humanoid river monster previously believed only to be a thing of legends, and the two develop an unspoken connection.

Animal Place – In the world of Animal Place, animals are portrayed like people which means they’re going to have people-like problems too. Each episode will feature an original song performed by a member of our ensemble cast as they navigate high school questioning everything from: race, religion, social economic status, gender, sexuality to body image, it’s all on the table!

On This Day – Expect the unexpected as we celebrate the beautiful diversity of real queer love. We’ll embrace the unconventional and showcase new wedding traditions, all while our talented vendors help each couple on their journey to the altar.

FAK YAASS – After a traumatic event, Nico, a gay Gen Z, has to move back in with his very tradition Greek family, the same family that kicked him out for being gay in the first place.

The Bow is set to make its official launch August 24th, 2023 at the historic El Mocambo with a special appearance from Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winning performer Billy Porter and the platform’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor.

“The Bow will tell queer stories by queer creators. We are thrilled to be the platform that allows for queer voices to have a true seat at the table.” said Porter. “It’s my mission to create equity within mainstream media and The Bow is making that happen.”
