Ekran Toronto Polish Film Festival – Nov 14 to 24, 2024 (Toronto)
The 15th annual Ekran Toronto Polish Film Festival is set to screen the best of Polish cinema from November 14 to 24, 2024, showcasing an exciting lineup of films that highlight the rich tapestry of Polish cinema and culture. This year’s festival promises to bring together filmmakers, enthusiasts, and the community to celebrate creativity, storytelling, and cultural exchange.
The festival will take place across three venues: Innis Town Hall at University of Toronto, Revue Cinema in Toronto, and Maja Prentice Theatre in Mississauga. Kicking off the festival is the opening night film Kulej, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Xawery Zulawski. This year’s lineup features a diverse array of international and locally made films.
It’s also a celebration of storytelling and cultural exchange as we bring together filmmakers, audiences, and communities. This festival not only showcases remarkable cinematic talent, but also fosters a deeper understanding of Polish culture through film.
The festival will screen over 20 films, including award-winning titles and emerging talents. Highlights include White Courage, Simona Kossak, Minghun, The Girl with the Needle and Kulej. All That Glitters Isn’t Gold, offering audiences a glimpse into contemporary Polish society, history, and artistic expression. Documentaries highlight the festival, with titles such as The Last Expedition, The Deluge, Postscriptum, and Mensch.
All films are in Polish with English subtitles. Most screenings are preceded by a short film. Tickets for Ekran Toronto Polish Film Festival can be purchased in advance online at ekran.ca. Single tickets are $20.00 and a Festival Pass, which grants access to all screenings, is $125.00. Tickets purchased online are non-refundable and should be printed or displayed on a smartphone and presented at the entrance. Tickets can be purchased at the door, subject to availability. Seats are not numbered and are on a first come, first served basis. Doors open 15 minutes before each screening.

Ekran Polish Film Association is a Toronto based non-profit organization, established in 2009 by a group of individuals who are passionate about showcasing new media arts and films.
