Eugene Hütz and Sergey Ryabtsev from the international punk band, Gogol Bordello, will be hosting a Q&A session and spirited live performance here in Toronto on November 4, 2024 following the film screening of Scream of My Blood. 

Gogol Bordello is a wild, visionary cadre of immigrant musicians, artists and outsiders, whose border-blasting message of inclusion and personal liberation, coupled with their musical supercollider style, have made them one of the world’s most vital, explosive and joyous live acts.

The film is a fascinating intimate portrait of Hütz as an Ukrainian immigrant, chronicling the rise of his NYC punk band Gogol Bordello and his defiant return to Ukraine in the wake of the Russian invasion. This isn’t just a documentary; it’s a raw, unfiltered look at the life of a man who turned his struggles into a universal anthem of resistance and freedom.

The Vice doc premiered at Tribeca Film Festival last June, earning a Special Jury Mention for Best New Documentary Director Award for Nate Pommer and Eric Weinrib. The film is produced by Nate Pommer and Beverly Chase.

Hütz also recently launched Casa Gogol Records last year with the release of collaborative song “Solidarity” by Gogol Bordello feat. Bernard Sumner (New Order).
