Tracy & Martina: Goin’ Out West follows two best friends Tracy and Martina from Cape Breton who have never travelled outside of Nova Scotia. When they hear promises of big opportunities “out west,” the pair pack their clothes into shopping bags and hop on a flight to Alberta to do a mini-tour with a local rock band.

What starts as a dream trip quickly unravels: internal tensions, surprise expenses, and cousins who are nowhere to be found. With their return tickets unbooked and Martina’s credit card maxed, the girls are stranded, broke, and desperate. They thought they’d make enough money opening for the band Slowcoaster at their three stops in Fort McMurray, Edmonton, and Calgary, but budgeting has never been their strength. Things go from bad to worse when old small-town tensions between the girls bubble to the surface.

Through it all, Tracy and Martina discover that making ‘Berta Money’ isn’t as easy as they thought, but sticking together and relying on East Coast hospitality just might be their ticket back to Cape Breton.

As their motto suggests, “savin’ money, savin’ time, for gettin’ loaded,” Tracy and Martina are experts when it comes to partying on a dime. Despite living in a rural post-industrial community, these girls always find entertainment and glamour in everyday activities. Whether they’re playing bingo, getting groceries, shootin’ the sh!t, or going out, Tracy and Martina never miss an opportunity to cake on some makeup and cause a scene.

Starring popular podcasters and sketch-comedy duo Justine Williamson and Greg Vardy who also were screenwriters and producers for the film, along with Brendan Lyle. Catch them live on tour across Canada this summer and fall, and they’ll also be at a special Toronto screening of the film on July 10, 2026 at the Paradise Theatre (1006 Bloor St W), for a Q&A with fellow cast and crew members.
